• of households that live within ½ mile of public transit, 30% don’t own cars
• outside of ½ mile of public transit, only 7% don’t own cars
• those within a ½ mile of public transit
• drive 50% less
• are four times more likely to walk
• are 10 times more likely to use transit

• With increased density, there is a 20-40% decrease in vehicle miles traveled
